what Angie Oko is all about

Rehumanizing Humans

A human is a human.

No matter where they come from, nor what socio-economic status they hold, no matter their sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, race. We are all the same. We are all valuable. We all deserve respect and love.

An animal is an animal.

Animals are valuable, just as humans. They deserve respect and love.

My goal as an artist is to convey what I see. I see a world full of beautiful humans, animals, insects, and plants alike. My vision of the world is that we are all one, all connected, and somehow have become and are becoming less connected, less human.

My artwork portrays all bodies as beautiful bodies who need to be embraced. Self love is one of the most powerful tools we as humans hold. Daily life suppresses self love, whereas I want to promote it. All we need is to know how to feel self love, and then everything will flow.

We know our true value, we are our own temple.

I hope to show humans who are wearing perhaps a blindfold that it's ok to take it off and show their real self. Their self is just as worthy as anyone else. We are all worthy. Many are not respected nor valued. My artwork is here to remind them I respect them, I value them, I love them.

I want each human to be able to participate in helping giving back to the community by donating 10% of each sale to a selected non-profit organization (every month I will feature a different association). Those will including A21 (fighting against modern slavery and human trafficking), as well as PlannedParenthood (education and support in sexual health).

Planet Awareness

Awareness in general, of our privilege as humans to roam this earth, is crucial for us to evolve into the species we are meant to be. Awareness of ones self and on how one impacts other humans, animals or the environment is our own responsibility.

Planet featured months will donate 10% of sales to Greenpeace and WWF.
