General FAQ
You can book workshops online through our website by selecting 1-day workshops.(https://www.angieoko.com/onedayworkshops) Please refer to our liability waiver (https://www.angieoko.com/liabilitywaiver)and code of conduct (https://www.angieoko.com/code-of-conduct)before purchasing tickets.
All workshops are beginner friendly, however they do increase in skill level therefore taking a level 4 class as a beginner can be overwhelming for some. We recommend taking the Level 0 and Level 1 classes before jumping levels. If you do jump levels, you are welcomed to, however please keep in mind that you need to finish within the allocated time, otherwise you will have the option to finish your sun catcher during a drop in session ($55 for 2.5hrs).
Stained glass is not recommended when you are pregnant or breast feeding as there are risks involved. If you decide to not risk it please let us know to reschedule you.
There are always risks when being exposed to fumes, lead and silica dust. However, if you take the proper precautions and wear the appropriate PPE, you can reduce your risk. This includes wearing gloves when handling glass grinding, flux and solder. Wearing a fume respirator when soldering in addition to proper ventilation in the studio (the studio is equipt with HEPA extractor ventilation), puttying and whiting. Wearing an apron and washing clothes worn in the studio with D-Lead laundry detergent. Having separate studio shoes as to not contaminate your house with lead. You should always wash your hands after class with D-Lead soap and avoid touching anything with dirty gloves as to not contaminate (for example) your phone etc with lead particles.
You can always also use lead-free solder, however you still have to protect yourself from silica dust when grinding glass (however if you have the proper water in the grinder this wont be an issue), as well as flux fumes (still used to solder lead-free).

Stained glass requires a lot of safety protocols. In class we cut glass therefore you are provided with gloves and safety goggles. We also solder or melt lead (solder) therefore the space is equipped with HEPA filtered ventilation system to remove toxic fumes when burning flux. Please refer to our safety page (https://www.angieoko.com/safetytrainingvideo)and sign the liability waiver (https://www.angieoko.com/liabilitywaiver)before purchasing tickets (especially important for pregnant people). We also sell and recommend wearing a 3M fume respirator (https://www.protectly.co/products/3m-6000-series-half-face-respirator-kit-with-ov-p100-cartridges?currency=USD&variant=44424909291688&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=b96c531517fe&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21198454956&gbraid=0AAAAACUWHWVsoBp2BaGaacN7Wq2LFaf1f&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2bTNBhDjARIsAK89wlGFJjaPtKL2SbHvRnIrHtnTeOvjcomSM89cIQTbObWBTF-ZS-C-hqAaApUNEALw_wcB)when soldering.

Learn how to care for your stained glass piece long term by following our care instructions available on the website.
We do not paint or stain glass since we do not have a kiln at the moment. The workshops consist of cutting and grinding glass, then wrapping those pieces of glass with copper foil tape. Finally we solder (melt metal which is comprised of 40% tin and 60% lead) the pieces together. Note to pregnant people - please see safety requirements here.(https://www.angieoko.com/safetytrainingvideo)
